As I get ready to retire after 33 years of government service and look back, the thing I love most about NASA is that we let the astronauts see the universe from a vantage point that nobody else can. I see most things from a Christian perspective and am proud that we are able to put astronauts in space and they can look down on this planet and see what God has created from a better viewpoint.
If I could give advice to my younger self or a new co-op or intern just starting out at NASA, it would be to take full advantage of the knowledge of all of those who have come before you. Study lessons learned from previous programs. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or to say “I don’t know.”
