Johnson Celebrates Workforce with Backyard Games

by Sumer Loggins | 2023-04-21

Spring is here at NASA's Johnson Space Center! On April 12, 2023, Johnson celebrated their excellent workforce with fun and games in the grassy area behind Building 1. As employees come on-site more often, Starport intentionally promotes services that foster connection and culture. We know that both are built on experiences over time. Johnson employees enjoyed free (vegan or beef) hot dogs and drinks and played fan-favorite games like ladder ball, cornhole, frisbee bottle toss, and more.

"Through a series of employee feedback roadshows, we have learned that employees want more fun opportunities to interact with each other. It is also NASA Moves season! Since activity comes in all sorts of ways, play is a great way to improve your health. Backyard Games was created as a way to promote movement and connection," said Chasity Williams, Starport's deputy operations manager.

"Please help us spread the word about Starport programming and the benefits of utilizing Starport services. You are directly investing in Johnson's culture by doing so. Culture is everybody’s business. Starport is in the business of taking care of our workforce."

Stay tuned for more fun to come!
