JSC Feeds Families kicks off

2018-09-05
Once again, the NASA Johnson Space Center team will work together to knock out hunger in our community through JSC Feeds Families. The center's goal this year is 60,000 pounds. Together, we can make a difference.

Donation drop boxes have been delivered to buildings on-site, as well as the cafés, Gilruth Center, Sonny Carter Training Facility, Ellington Field and White Sands Test Facility. We encourage the entire Johnson team (contractors off-site as well) to join in. Collection starts Sept. 4 and ends Oct. 11 with a final, fun-filled stuff-the-truck event at the Gilruth Center. Also, same as last year, you may donate pet food for those in need who own animals.

Here are the food bank's most-wanted items:

  • Cereal
  • Rice and whole-grain pasta
  • Peanut butter
  • Canned fruits and veggies
  • Canned meat
  • Canned beans and soup
  • Nutritional shakes and drinks
  • Kid-friendly food items like granola bars
  • Personal-hygiene items
  • Household items
  • Paper products
All donations from Johnson will benefit the Galveston County Food Bank.

Let your competitive spirit further benefit this great cause. We encourage you to engage in friendly competition with other orgs to see who will emerge on top.
