Breaking: Astronauts for Commercial Crew Announced

The first crews that will launch to space aboard the Boeing CST-100 and the SpaceX Crew Dragon in partnership with the Commercial Crew Program were announced at NASA’s Johnson Space Center on Aug. 3.

NASA astronauts Nicole Mann, Josh Cassada, Victor Glover, Michael Hopkins, Robert Behnken, Eric Boe, Douglas Hurley and Sunita Williams were announced with Boeing astronaut Chris Ferguson as the first humans who will fly on the commercial vehicles.

The astronauts were assigned to flights during the event that consist of a flight test and post-certification flight for each spacecraft.
