Starport is changing (and they have an open house to show it)

Starport is ever evolving, and they have made some recent renovations, updates and program additions that many will appreciate.

To get the full scoop and immersive experience, be sure to attend Starport’s Open House on May 21 from 3 to 7 p.m., where you can:
 

• Learn about the new fitness membership pricing
• See the newly renovated lobby, retail and fitness spaces
• Check out the updated fitness facilities and learn about the new equipment in the Strength and Cardio Center and GroupX Studios
• See demos of brand-new Les Mills’ group exercise classes

Boasting a fresh coat of paint, the Strength and Cardio Center offers updated equipment such as new Cybex weight machines, six new Matrix treadmills and a Jabob's ladder. 

Before May 21, take part in GroupX Demo Day on May 19. There, you’ll be able to try some of the trendiest new workouts Starport has to offer.

In the meantime, if you drop by the Gilruth Center, you may notice some of the changes already in effect:
 

• Strength and Cardio Center: People working out will see new equipment in place, with freshly painted walls and reorganized stations.
• Unisex showers: There are now three unisex showers available for use, including one that is compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
• Lobby area: Those entering the lobby will see new flooring, freshly painted walls, improved placement of the front desk, updated retail space and the addition of a collaboration center.

The Gilruth Center lobby's "glow up" includes improved placement of the front desk, new flooring and more.

But, more changes are coming. Some of those still to come:
 

• Fitness membership pricing will be released May 21: New prices will be posted to the Starport website, and emails will be sent to Starport distribution lists.
• Women’s shower renovation: The Exchange Council recently approved funding to update the women’s showers. Look for more details in the June Starport newsletter.
• GroupX Studios: Murals are coming soon to Zen Den and Cycle City. A screen will be added to Cycle City to enable virtual instruction.

• May 22: Gilruth Inspiration Room, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
• June 6: Building 1, Room 360, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
• June 7: Building 12, Room 152/154, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
