I am the communication manager for the International Space Station Program (ISS), and my job is to tell anyone and everyone about the ISS. I like to tell folks I’ve got the second coolest job in the world. The coolest job is, of course, being an astronaut—but I get to tell their story. The teams I lead share with others what it’s really like to spend six months in space, what science is done aboard station, the daily activities crew members embark upon, the spacewalks they participate in and so much more. We share each mission’s story through 4K videos, outreach, social media, science-based videos and other formats.

Working for the space program is a privilege, and it’s something that I’m very thankful I get to do. What we are doing is not only making a difference for humankind as a whole—it is also literally changing the course of human history.
