JSC Feeds Families … by stuffing a truck
2013-07-30
The Johnson Space Center family has, in the past, been the largest contributor to the Galveston Food Bank. Without the generous donations during the JSC Feeds Families food drive, many in our community might go hungry. The food drive for 2013 supported both the Galveston Food Bank and the Clear Lake Food Pantry.
Along with donation bins that had been on-site for weeks, the last push of the drive culminated in a “CANstruction” contest using food items to create art (many of the structures related to JSC or spaceflight). On July 26, the closing day of JSC Feeds Families, volunteers descended on the Space Center Houston parking lot to stuff not just one truck—but many—with more donations.
