Big, bold, beautiful—Black Hawks descend on JSC
2015-06-11
Hundreds of Johnson Space Center team members came out on June 5 to show support for and welcome the members of the Army’s 227th Assault Helicopter Battalion, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade out of Fort Hood, Texas. The battalion landed six Black Hawk helicopters at JSC and gave employees and their families the opportunity to watch the landing and see inside these impressive helicopters. The soldiers were then shown around JSC, where they heard about the inner workings of the center from Army astronauts and learned how life as an astronaut compares to life in the Army. One soldier even decided to hold his re-enlistment ceremony in the Apollo Historic Mission Control Room.
