Hundreds of Houston-area children and their families were treated to an unforgettable experience on Sunday, December 16, during U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee’s Toys for Kids event at the George R. Brown Convention Center. The annual event gives families from underserved and underrepresented communities an opportunity to experience the joy of the holiday season. Team members from NASA’s Johnson Space Center and Space Center Houston were on hand to help spread holiday cheer and share the agency’s exciting work with attendees.

NASA astronauts Josh Cassada and Anne McClain participated in the event’s grand parade entrance before heading to the NASA exhibit area to meet and take photos with attendees. The Driven to Explore mobile exhibit and activities led by volunteers from Johnson’s Office of STEM Engagement helped to share NASA’s story with children of all ages, and many guests enjoyed meeting Center mascot Cosmo.
