ICYMI: ‘Houston, We Have a Podcast’ 300th Episode Celebration

NASA's Johnson Space Center employees and fans gathered on July 27, 2023, at Space Center Houston's Destiny Theater in Houston, Texas, to celebrate the live recording of the 300th episode of "Houston, We Have a Podcast."  

 

The podcast, hosted by Public Affairs Officer Gary Jordan, began on July 7, 2017, and has become an integral part of NASA's storytelling ever since. The weekly podcast features in-depth discussions with astronauts, engineers, scientists, and program leaders on captivating human spaceflight topics.

Jordan expressed his gratitude to those involved in making the event a success and the amazing outpour of support. 

 

I'd like to thank everyone that put in the time and effort to bring this event together, and of course to the panelists for being such wonderful guests,” said Jordan.

The panelists included Johnson Deputy Center Director Steve Koerner, International Space Station Program Operations Integration Manager Dina Contella, Commercial Crew Program Manager Steve Stich, and Commercial Low Earth Orbit Development Program Manager Angela Hart.

During the live recording, the focus was on discussing the progress made aboard the International Space Station, highlighting the achievements of NASA's Commercial Crew Program, and shedding light on the ongoing efforts in commercial low Earth orbit development that are driving the advancement of a robust low Earth orbit economy.

A Q&A session following the panel discussion allowed attendees to ask questions related to job or internship opportunities at NASA, the commercialization of low Earth orbit, and the future of space exploration.
