ASIA ERG Celebrates AANHPI Heritage Month
On May 4, 2023, the Asians Succeeding in Innovation and Aerospace (ASIA) Employee Resource Group (ERG) highlighted the many cultures at NASA’s Johnson Space Center. The CultureFest was held in the Teague Auditorium, honoring Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month with a celebration of food, dance, and tradition.
NASA astronaut Jonny Kim held opening remarks followed by cultural performances and a delicious potluck. The event included Sri Lankan and K-Pop dance, a Bollywood flute performance, a Koto performance, and a chance to write your name in calligraphy. The CultureFest included food from Korea, Vietnam, Taiwan, Thailand, Hawaii, China, India, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, and Singapore.
