Johnson Celebrates MLK Jr. Day in Downtown Houston

On Jan. 16, 2023, approximately 60 people gathered in downtown Houston, rocking their NASA and African American Employee Resource Group (AAERG) gear, for the 45th Annual Original Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade.

Attendees included NASA Johnson Space Center Director Vanessa Wyche, AAERG Executive Sponsor and Human Research Program Director Mark Baumann, Johnson's External Relations Office Director Arturo Sanchez, astronaut Victor Glover with the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Deputy Director of Diversity and Equal Opportunity Robert Blake, and Jessica Cordero and Jackelynne Silva-Martinez with the Hispanic Employee Resource Group.

The festivities featured Space Center Houston's float, high school bands, drill teams, youth organizations, and more.
