See Pics as Astros and the Orion Program Team Up for NASA Night

The Houston Astros, Space City’s baseball team, are looking to add more marks to the win column this postseason after a thrilling matchup against the Seattle Mariners courtesy of (*** chef’s kiss ***) Yordan Alvarez’s three-run, walk-off home run in Game 1 of the American League Division Series on Oct. 11, 2022. If the home team got a much-needed boost from a recent NASA Night with the Astros featuring the Orion program on Oct. 3 … count us not surprised, as Orion is setting its sights waaaay beyond the ballpark — and to the Moon.

So, what do Orion and the Astros organization have in common? Well, for one, they’re both powered by the strength of the team. This famed Orion team spirit was on full display at the game as they gathered in the concourse for a group pic.

On-the-field action included Orion Program Manager Howard Hu throwing the ceremonial first pitch. Off the field, in the Hall of Fame Alley amongst the spectators, the Orion spacecraft, a key element of NASA’s Artemis missions, was the focal point of this last NASA Night of 2022. Orion team members Nicholas Houghton and Christie Sauers donned Orion Crew Survival System spacesuits to take part in snapshots with eager fans while the lovable, inflatable astronaut Cosmo joined in the mixing and mingling.
