A Brief History of Sustainability at NASA’s Johnson Space Center
by Robert Rochel | 2022-05-16
To celebrate the 60th anniversary of NASA’s Johnson Space Center, we’ve put together a timeline that highlights how the center has worked across directorates to support sustainability over the past 60 years. Since Johnson was first established in 1961, several Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED, buildings, solar panels, green roofs, and other innovative solutions have been added. A lot has happened, and it is important to remember what has been accomplished to inspire future sustainable projects.
Please enjoy this visual, brief history of Johnson. Hopefully some of the accomplishments will inspire you to find sustainable solutions within your own work or at home.
Happy 60 years!
