Celebrating 60 Years … with a Bang!
NASA Johnson Space Center’s 60th Anniversary Celebration at the Gilruth was a party of epic proportions and a fitting tribute to the legacy of all the center has accomplished in six decades with its invaluable team members. At the event on April 28, Johnson employees and their families enjoyed remarks from Director Vanessa Wyche, a T-38 flyover, family games and activities, the Decades Costume Contest, space trivia, the Driven to Explore mobile exhibit, JSC Amateur Radio Club broadcast, and food and beverages, including a beer and wine garden area. For the finale, a mezmerizing display of fireworks lit up the night sky above the home of human space exploration.
