Championing This Cause: Feds Feed Families Enters its Last Week
From now until Aug. 27, team members from NASA’s Johnson Space Center and White Sands Test Facility are making a difference directly in local communities with Feds Feed Families (FFF) — but time is running out!
This could be you (or your lovely pets). Donate to FFF and have fun in the process!
Take a look at some FFF champions from Johnson Space Center and White Sands who have been helping to get the word out about the food drive.
During the campaign, if you plant a row, donate to a food bank/pantry, or attend a gleaning event, take a picture and submit it to FFF Chair Jessica Cordero at jessica.a.cordero@nasa.gov. (Please include a caption of the activity, your name, and your organization.) Get creative and wear a NASA shirt or hat, or hold your organization logo in the photo. Photo entries will be compiled and shared in Roundup Reads as a fun way to see how we have all supported the FFF campaign.
Friday! Stuff the Truck
This Friday, Aug. 27, from 8 a.m. to noon, wrap up your participation in the campaign during a convenient no-contact, drop-off “Stuff the Truck” event at the Gilruth Center. Here, you can bring last-minute, drive-by donations straight into a large food bank truck. You don’t even have to get out of your car! Just pop your trunk, and our volunteers will remove items from your vehicle.
Guess what? You could also score a *free NASA poster just for stopping by. Posters will be handed out courtesy of Space Flight Awareness.
*Limited supplies available, and while supplies last. No FFF donation is required to get a poster.
The FFF food drive is a voluntary effort for NASA civil servants and contractors to donate food for those in need. Here in our Houston area, there are tens of thousands of families in need of our support this year. Due to continued impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s campaign has gone mostly virtual. Whether you participate in Stuff the Truck this Friday or not, you can still take part with an online donation:

This is the last week to participate. Help Johnson reach its goal of 45,000 pounds!
