2021-06-28

If you haven’t seen the announcements, Roundup Web will transition to an agencywide intranet platform called OneNASA beginning Sept. 1, 2021. The new platform offers many benefits that will be used to increase continue improving employee communications (click here if you missed the article), but today we want to show you a brief tutorial with some tips for using the new site.

Please watch the video below, we look forward to sharing the new site with you on Sept. 1!

FAQs

What’s new and different about Inside JSC vs Roundup Web?
Inside JSC replaces Roundup Web with a more intuitive SharePoint Online experience -- connecting content, people, and data across Office 365. The new platform offers better information sharing across the agency, allows for community posting, and continues to offer all of the resources you rely on to complete your work.

SharePoint Online is really different than old SharePoint. Where can I find training materials?
Training materials can be found on the Office 365 Support Portal.

How can I search for organizations, people, and groups?
You can search for organizations across JSC using the “JSC Orgs” dropdown on the menu bar. Additionally, in the upper menu bar (managed by the agency), there are links to mission directorates and other centers.

How do organizations make changes or updates to content?

Organizations have the power to build and update impressive pages. Learn more about how to navigate your site and edit your content here.

Is SwapShop included on the new Inside JSC?

Yes, you will be able to locate the link to SwapShop within the Starport dropdown in the menu bar.

Where is the Phonebook located?

The phonebook you know and love is located in the useful links section on the right side of the page (if you are zoomed in past 100% on your browser, this will be at the very bottom of the page.) Aditionally, a new NASA phonebook is now integrated with SharePoint Online. Access the Phonebook by clicking the link the main site navigation. You can search for anyone at any center by:

  • Profile photo
  • Contact information
  • Organizational info, such as who your manager is, or if you have any people reporting to you directly
  • People you collaborate with
  • Recent email messages between you and the person looking at your profile

I’ve got an announcement or event that needs to be shared with the entire Goddard team. How do I that?

You can post community events and news using NASA Community. The NASA Community is a virtual space where any organizations or team members can share events and announcements. Getting your content to show up in that section is quick and easy, and here are instructions to post.

Why do I see two navigation bars?

The top navigation bar shown in the example below as Item 1 is the hub site navigation. This is the top level navigation for all Intranet sites. This will allow you to navigate between Community and other Intranet sites easily with one click. The Inside JSC navigation, Item 2, is the main Inside JSC navigation. Item 2 will have access to all of the links you are used to using on Roundup Web.

I do not see the navigation as shown above. What is happening?

SharePoint Online is a fully responsive web platform. If you cannot see the navigation as shown above, your screen resolution on your monitor or laptop is making the navigation "nest or hide" in order to give you the best viewing experience. You can view the navigation by clicking the 3 ellipses (...) to expand the navigation, or use "CTRL-/CMD-" to zoom out in your browser window.
