Join the parade for JSC Feeds Families

2014-08-25
This year’s “Stuff the Truck” is in full swing, and for the big finale, the goal is to collect 60,000 pounds of food for JSC Feeds Families by Aug. 27. In the interest of making the event a huge success and also smoothing the coordination of the overall JSC-wide collection process, it has been suggested we all do what some organizations are already planning. Let us gather what’s been collected so far from each of our buildings and bring it to the “Stuff the Truck” event at the Gilruth on Aug. 27 between 8 and 11 a.m. There will be a scale at the final event so we can receive immediate feedback regarding how much we have collected centerwide. If this plan is not convenient for your building, do not worry. Your building’s contributions will certainly be acknowledged and picked up by the appropriate organization at a later time. Someone from JSC Feed Families will be in touch after the event and arrange to collect any remaining items.

In addition to “Stuff the Truck,” there are many ways to get creative and get involved with Feds Feed Families. Here is what other organizations at JSC are doing to get involved. At JSC, the Propulsion and Power Division (EP) is proposing an Ice Bucket Challenge: Get drenched and donate 25 cans to the Houston Food Bank, or stay dry and donate 100 cans of food to EP’s collection within 24 hours. Many have already accepted the challenge.
