It’s a Bird, it’s a Plane! Er—Many Planes …

If the tiny mannequin pilots could have felt something about their flights above NASA’s Johnson Space Center, that feeling would have been: exhilaration!

 


It’s exhilaration—clearly.


Instead, those feelings were evident on the faces of the radio control operators and spectators in attendance at this year’s Warbirds Over JSC open fly-in on April 27, put on annually by Johnson’s Radio Control Club.

Wispy, cottony clouds and clear blue skies provided an excellent day of flying for the participants, who came out with a vast assortment of highly detailed scale replicas of airplanes, bombers, jets and helicopters.
